Google Launches Montreal’s First Game Design Studio

This is a dream job for video game enthusiasts. And if you hurry up, you can be one of the lucky ones.

For months, Google has been teasing users with promises of producing original game content for its new Stadia streaming platform. Finally, the corporation has officially announced that Montreal will be the location of the first office of Stadia Games and Entertainment.

Stadia is a new cloud-based gaming streaming service, a kind of Netflix for game players. It broadcasts the action directly to the device, almost like video streaming on Netflix or online music services — all you need is an Internet connection. The platform’s creators promise an exclusive, original content in a diverse portfolio of games along with third-party games.

Montreal is already home to some of the big game makers such as Ubisoft, Warner Bro Games, and Eidos. However, the arrival of Google Stadia in Montreal means thousands of new jobs in this city.

While announcing the opening of an office in Montreal, Stadia published the first list of job vacancies. Managers and senior staff are being recruited now, and entry-level positions will be open soon. If you have always wanted to work in the gaming industry, this can be a great opportunity to get into a huge corporation with a startup feel.

If you have impressive work experience, please note that the company is also looking for full-time directors, including creative, audio, technical and artistic directors.

The Stadia platform is scheduled to be launched on November 19. Therefore, if you have dreamed of working in the gaming industry (and specifically in a Google project), update your CV and start writing a cover letter. Even if you have just finished your studies, be sure to keep track of the new job openings, as they will be quickly closed.
