Skilled workers in in-demand occupations may immigrate to Canada through the Occupation In-Demand category.
The International Skilled Worker — Occupation In-Demand category of the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) offers permanent residency in Canada to skilled workers with work experience in an in-demand occupation but without a job offer in the province.
To be able to immigrate through this category, the applicant must meet the following requirements:
- Have completed at least a one-year academic program in a public post-secondary institution, hold a degree, diploma or certificate. If the program has been completed outside Canada, the applicant should provide an Educational Credential Assessment report
- Have a minimum of 1 year of work experience in the past 10 years (in a skilled profession (non-trades)) or a minimum of 2 years in the past 5 years (in a skilled trade) or 1 year in the past 3 years in Canada
- Have work experience in occupations categorized as NOC skill levels 0, A or B that are on the SINP In-Demand Occupation List
- Have a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) score of 4 or higher
- Provide a license if it is necessary to work in Canada in a specific occupation
- Have proof of settlement funds and a settlement plan
- Score at least 60 points out of 100 in the points assessment grid
- Live outside Canada or have proof of legal residence in Canada, and not be a refugee applicant
- Pay the C$300 processing fee
