The Canadian government has posted the list of job openings for students under the Summer Jobs Program. The program has operated for three years and has been offering real-life job opportunities for more than 70,000 young people every year.
Students from all across the country (including international students) can apply for summer jobs and get access to Canada’s job bank. This year, more than 85,000 jobs will be available. There are 5,348 job listings in Montreal alone!
The deadline for job applications is July 12, 2019.
The Canadian Summer Jobs Program is the government initiative that provides funding to organizations to create summertime jobs for young people. This year, the government of Canada for the first time has allowed applying online or by downloading the Job Bank application.
Students can work full time from April to September for a minimum of six weeks. International students are allowed to be employed 20 hours a week in the academic year and 40 hours during vacation.
A summer job can be a good start for the future. All you need is to be between 15 and 30 years of age, have a Social Insurance Number (SIN), and (for a number of jobs) a work permit.
Among the 85,000 jobs provided by the government this year, you will certainly find something to your liking. Last year, the program benefited more than 40,000 people.
