New Brunswick will no longer accept paper-based immigration applications.
Starting September 16, 2019, the Atlantic province of New Brunswick is transitioning to an online immigration application system. Applications under the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program and the Atlantic Immigration Pilot will only be accepted online.
According to the official statement, ‘the modernized system will allow to offer a more secure and efficient approach to managing immigration
applications under the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program and the Atlantic Immigration Pilot.’
Paper-based applications that contain a post-date mark which indicates that the application was
sent via mail before September 1, 2019 will be accepted.
All paper-based applications received after September 1, 2019 will not be processed and will be returned to the applicant together with all fees paid. The applicant will also receive a notification that the application must be submitted online.
Applicants who have not yet received a decision on their file will be contacted by e-mail and will get instructions to access the new online system.
When immigrating through a Provincial Nominee Program, the candidate must submit a paper-based application. The exception is provincial Express Entry Streams. When immigrating through an Express Entry Stream, the candidate submits an application online to the Express Entry pool.
It is expected that other provinces will soon move to an online immigration application system.
