During the Express Entry selection that took place on July 10, Canada sent the largest number of invitations since January. Another good news is that the pass mark decreased.
The Government of Canada issued 3,600 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to permanent residence candidates during the Express Entry selection held on July 10, 2019. The last selection became the most extensive since January 23.
This year, the total number of ITAs issued by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) reached 45,400.
The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS)’s pass mark in this selection was 460, which is 2 points lower than in the previous selection.
IRCC used the tie-break rule in the selection of July 10. This means that all candidates with a CRS score of 460 or higher, who received ITAs in this selection, published their profiles in the Express Entry system before June 11, 2019, 12:27:18 UTC.
Below are hypothetical examples of candidates who would have gotten ITAs in the selection on July 10:
Ibrahim is 32 years old, has a master’s degree and has worked as a management consultant for three years. He has passed IELTS and scored 8 points in each category. Although Ibrahim has never worked or studied in Canada, his 462 CRS points would be enough to get an ITA in the selection on July 10th.
Salim is 40 years old, he has a bachelor’s degree and has been running his own e-commerce business for 15 years. He is married to Hannah, who is 32 years old. Hannah has a bachelor’s degree as well as a college certificate. Hannah worked as a teacher for four years in the last 10 years. Both Salim and Hannah speak English, but neither Salim nor Hannah have ever worked in Canada. Hannah has become the main applicant in Express Entry and scored 460 CRS points, which was enough to get an invitation to apply in the selection on July 10.
