The Canadian telecommunications company will invest C$16 billion in Alberta by 2025.
Telus, a large provider of telecommunications products and services, including the Internet, voice communication, and IPTV, plans to connect Alberta residents to the PureFiber high-speed network. This technology will provide enhanced wireless capabilities at much higher speeds throughout the province of Alberta.
According to Darren Entwistle, President and CEO of Telus, the network provider intends to give individuals and startups access to the same speeds, functionality, reliability, and Internet security that are used by large enterprises.
Alberta Premier Jason Kenney said the government is committed to making it easier to start businesses and create jobs. Kenny explained that the Alberta government will work closely with Telus to prepare for the introduction of the 5G network, which will lay the foundation for the future of the province.
The 5G network will improve the speed and quality of the Internet, the speed of streaming HD movies and loading photos, the speed of games, as well as home security in general. If you want to live in a smart home, the 5G network will change the rules of the game, allowing you to control CCTV cameras, locks, lighting and thermostats in real time. The network will focus on remote areas of Alberta, offering high-speed technology to isolated communities.
Apart from that, Telus plans to work closely with the provincial government to introduce new healthcare and agricultural solutions.
If you are interested in working for a large telecommunications company, now is the time to express your interest in Telus as this company is planning to create more than 25,000 jobs by 2025. And if you are an entrepreneur willing to start your small business in Alberta, keep in mind that new technologies will come here soon.
