Saskatchewan Updates In-Demand Occupations List

Saskatchewan Updates In-Demand Occupations ListThe list is updated with 13 occupations. Bakers, fitness instructors, accountants, and even milliners are now among them. The province also needs programmers and interactive media developers. You can find the list in this article.

Foreign nationals can immigrate to Canada under different programs, including the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP). To be eligible for the Skilled Worker: Occupation In-Demand and the International Skilled Worker: Saskatchewan Express Entry streams, the applicant needs to have work experience while a job offer is not mandatory.

Candidates from the federal Express Entry pool who are nominated by the province through the SINP Express Entry stream, receive an additional 600 points to their total score, which in fact guarantees an invitation to apply for permanent residence. Candidates from outside the Express Entry pool can also apply through the SINP’s Occupation In-Demand stream. Foreign nationals are eligible for one of the streams if their profession is on Saskatchewan’s In-Demand Occupations List.

Saskatchewan authorities occasionally revise In-Demand Occupations List so that it would fit the requirements of the provincial labour market. The updated list includes 24 occupations in total. Nine occupations have been removed and 13 have been added. Out of 24 occupations, nine do not require licensure.

The list was updated on April 4, but given the fact that it can be revised again in the near future, candidates whose occupations are on the updated list should submit an Expression of Interest to the SINP as soon as possible.
