Ontario Has Invited Candidates with Work Experience in Management and Finance

The latest draw in Ontario included candidates employed in 10 occupations, including accountants, nurses, and public relations managers.

On August 15, Ontario sent 997 invitations to apply for a permanent residence permit through the Express Entry system.

Express Entry applicants who received an invitation should have had work experience in one of 10 occupations and also get 439 to 465 points in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS).

During the draw, candidates in the following occupations were invited:

  • Administrative services managers (NOC 0114)
  • Corporate sales managers (NOC 0601)
  • Professional occupations in business management consulting (NOC 1122)
  • Advertising, marketing and public relations managers (NOC 0124)
  • Retail and wholesale trade managers (NOC 0621)
  • Financial auditors and accountants (NOC 1111)
  • Registered nurses and registered psychiatric nurses (NOC 3012)
  • Financial managers (NOC 0111)
  • Other financial officers (NOC 1114)
  • Managers in customer and personal services, n.e.c. (NOC 0651)

Since the draws are part of the Ontario Provincial Immigration Program (OINP)’s Human Capital Priorities Stream, a job offer is not required.

To be able to get an application considered under the Human Capital Priorities Stream, a candidate needs first to create a profile in the Express Entry system.

Applicants must meet federal and provincial criteria to qualify for permanent residency in Canada. The provincial nomination gives an additional 600 points in the Express Entry system, effectively guaranteeing an invitation to apply for a permanent residence permit in Canada.
