Quebec Invited 169 Skilled Workers in the Latest Arrima Draw

Since July 2019, Quebec has invited 1,595 skilled workers to apply for permanent residency under the Regular Skilled Worker Program.

In the latest Arrima invitation round held on September 25, 2019, Quebec sent invitations to apply for permanent residency under the Regular Skilled Worker Program to 169 immigration candidates. This information became available on October 25.

According to the Quebec Ministry of Immigration, Diversity and Inclusion, applicants were selected among 16,000 candidates for the Regular Skilled Worker Program, whose initial applications were canceled as a result of the reform of the Quebec Immigration Act on June 16, 2019.

In addition, the candidates were either exempted from the restriction on the number of participants or were residing in Quebec on a work or study permit as of June 16, 2019.

Those who were invited on September 25 submitted their Expressions of Interest on the provincial online registration portal, Arrima.

Since July 4, 2019, Quebec has invited 1,595 candidates with profiles in the Arrima system to participate in the Regular Skilled Worker Program.

Candidates who wish to immigrate to Quebec under the Regular Skilled Worker Program must first create, fill out and submit a profile in the Arrima system. A profile in the system is considered an expression of interest in immigration to Quebec. After that, the Ministry of Immigration, Diversity and Inclusion checks the profile database and sends invitations to candidates who meet certain criteria based on the needs of the Quebec labour market.

In the previous draw held on August 19, Quebec invited 444 candidates who have a profile in the Arrima system and whose previous applications were canceled as part of the immigration reform adopted on June 16, 2019.
